I found the philosophy of yoga very interesting,the gentle poses, just a couple of them I felt a bit uncomfortable in holding for a lengthened time, but with practice I’m sure my body would adapt, overall was an amazing morning. ~ Jude E.
The workshop starts with a short introduction on the Eight Limbs to set the context. I explain the meaning of each Limb and discuss the applications of these ancient yet universal tools and values in contemporary daily life. We then enjoy a 90-minute Yin Yoga practice during which we have to opportunity to put them into practice.
Aside from yoga poses (asanas) on the mat, yoga can be practiced every moment of the day and can be applied to many situations in daily life. It helps us to find balance, focus and connection.
The Eight Limbs of Yoga as described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, one of the first comprehensive texts about yoga recorded in history, are the foundation for many styles of yoga that have evolved since.
This workshop is suitable for all levels, even if you have never done yoga before. Beginners are given an insight into the world of yoga and it is an opportunity for more advanced practitioners to add an extra layer to their practice.
The Yin yoga practice is a beautiful, slow session that helps you de-stress and re-energise and creates space in body and mind.
Afterwards, l will serve herbal tea and healthy sugar-free home-made snacks and you are welcome to hang around for a chat.
